Investigation into failed explosion relief, with infestation identified

The Problem

The control system indicated the silo explosion panel had failed, and an investigation was requested.

The Solution

Our engineers visited the site and noted a number of issues that had potentially caused and over-pressure in the silo, that the explosion panel had failed, and evidence of infestation within the silo. The system was emptied and treated for the infestation, filters changed, repair works undertaken and a replacement explosion panel fitted.

The Outcome

The client benefitted from us managing the full works, and was able to restart production with a cleaned and certified system protecting their product security. Additional preventative works were highlighted to protect against unexpected failures.
